Seed Grants for Postdoc RCR Programming

The National Postdoctoral Association, with support from ORI, is offering seed grant funding to support the development of responsible conduct of research (RCR) programming directed at postdocs.  All postdoctoral offices and associations are strongly encouraged to apply.  Research institutions that do not have an organization dedicated to serving postdocs are also strongly encouraged to apply.  Eligibility is limited to Canadian and U. S. organizations. Up to 18 awards will be made. Submission deadline is June 13, 2008.  Read more

Funding for Developing Comprehensive RCR Educational Models

The Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) is seeking applications from research universities desiring to participate in a collaborative project designed to generate comprehensive models for integrating research ethics and the responsible conduct of research (RCR) training into the fabric of graduate education.  The rationale and goals for this effort are explained in The Project for Scholarly Integrity in Graduate Education: A Framework for Collaborative Action.  CGS has issued a request for applications that has a July 30, 2008 submission deadline.  Five awards of $50,000 each will be made with support from ORI.  Eligibility is limited to CGS member institutions in the U. Research Ethics Education Website

The Research Ethics Program at the University of California - San Diego has created a website - Resources for Research Ethics Education - for teachers of research ethics.  The website has four sections - Introduction, Topics, Educational Formats, and Discussion Tools.  The website is supported by members of the Responsible Conduct of Research Education Committee (RCREC) and the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics (APPE).
